Holding up to 90 people at a time, Campo Alegría’s 50-acre campus on Lake Nicaragua gives mission teams, outreach projects, church groups, and Christian retreats a safe, beautiful place to serve and encourage the people of Nicaragua. Our favorite type of program is to run VBS-style “summer camps” for children who live in the second poorest country in this hemisphere. Teams transport the children to Campo Alegría, then feed, house, entertain, and educate them for several fun-filled days. Depending on the skills and talents of each team, some groups also perform construction, medical, dental, or other specialized services in the community.
