When planning your camp itinerary, we suggest you sit down with your team to identify each member’s strengths. Have someone who is particularly artsy? Put her in charge of arts & crafts (and give her a few helpers). Anyone interested in science? A science activity can focus on learning about the environment around the camp, or performing basic experiments with everyday objects.
You can find sample activity plans in a variety of places online, such as these:
A great way to start planning is to first come up with your camp theme. One example is “Superheros.” (All kids like superheros, but many don’t realize Jesus is the ultimate superhero!) You can then build all of your activities around verses and stories related to that central theme. Need help thinking of a theme? Check out these sites:
So, each member of your team is placed in charge of a particular activity, and then everyone helps with the evening activity, chapel, and swimming. (It is necessary to have at least five team members form a “human perimeter” around the designated swimming area, while the rest of the team plays with the children inside that area.)
